Our masterplan for the Moreton-in-Marsh development brings together key worker housing, a day nursery, retirement living and a care home in a setting shaped by traditional Cotswold character. Designed in response to the Local Planning Authority’s preference for a classic architectural approach, the scheme blends seamlessly into its rural surroundings while encouraging community interaction.
A series of traditional stone buildings are arranged around a welcoming village green, creating a natural focal point for social activity. Building heights range from 1.5 to 2.5 storeys, offering variety while ensuring harmony with the landscape. Facades draw on local heritage, featuring dormers, pitched and gabled roofs, bay windows, and chimneys, all crafted in authentic Cotswold materials such as natural stone, stone window details, and stone roof tiles.
Thoughtful elevation changes—particularly within the care home—add visual interest and contribute to a safe, inviting atmosphere. Treelined roads reinforce the rural character, helping the scheme feel as though it has grown organically over time. Overall, the masterplan creates a warm, sustainable, and connected environment where residents of all ages can flourish.
