This new homeowner wished to extend and alter their existing Kitchen and Laundry extension into an expansive, bright, and breathtaking space which they could enjoy and share with friends and family. Built in the late 19th Century, the house featured many additions and alterations over time which restricted flow, leaving unused and awkward spaces.

The brief was simple; create a flowing and spacious Kitchen with a Dining Room for all the family, whilst maintaining the relationship with the courtyard garden to the back of the house, limiting steps and creating as much level access as possible. The end result is a beautiful space which allows natural daylight to stream in through 5 large rooflights and the large aspect Crittall-style glazing to the feature extension.

All bricks used in the extension were reused from that which were removed, whilst also retaining small, but high-quality detailed elements of the existing house which preserve the character of the dwelling.
